A sculpture for rural North Dakota. Original design is 80ft L. Sited along the Heartland Bison ranch and its 500 herd of bisons.
Stakeholders began in early 2022: we were chosen in 2024.

Bold color and abstract bison
The beauty of the landscape becomes the focus.
Glaciers formed the lakes that now host more than half of all migratory birds in N. America
After seeing the site, we explore making Sky/Dream larger. 100 ft becomes the goal, and the design process begins to explore creating a large work without a large impact on this pristine land.
Sold to the state by Heartland Bison Ranch, a family concern.
Would be perfect for the size of the site. But is it doable with a $90,000 budget and a volatile building material market?
A simple arch to represent a feather and allow for the beauty of the glass to provide a calming space that is at one with the environment.
To keep the shatter-resistant glass in high winds. Used most recently in Rochester MN…also a very windy site
Requires a foundation to be built that would take up the entire budget of the project. Time to pivot.
60ft L x 10ft H will still be beautiful but will also be within current budget restraints and create less of an impact on the land.
1,000 mile trip to lay the foundation with eco-friendly fiberglass rebar and a deeper, less intrusive footprint.
We’re back to the studio to build Sky/Dream instead.
Camping at the beautiful Balta Dam
Take their final morning swim.
Is proudly donating ALL the glass for this project. So many choices.
Is a welcoming community gathering place, about 5 miles away from the sculpture. We’re using these warm colours to help guide our glass choices.

Makes it shine. And it’s shatter resistant. Glass has the lifetime of two universes.
is adjusted to be less vibrant and more of the land it surrounds.
