Blaze Your Own Trail

In 1889, at the height of the Jim Crow era, Marshall “Major” Taylor broke barriers by becoming the world’s fastest and most famous cyclist. “Life is too short for any man to hold bitterness in his heart.” In honor of his unifying spirit, The Milligan Studio is collaborating with local young artists to build a 20 ft bronze of the famed cyclist that will be on permanent loan to the Major Taylor Cycling Club of Minnesota in honor of their 20th Anniversary and placed on The Midtown Greenway in the hopes that its enormous blue neon tires will be a reminder to all to “Blaze your own Trail.”
