THE ALLIUM BENCH


Commissioned Public Art for the City of Eagan, MN. This copper and barn wood bench, created to suggest an elegant red onion on a chopping block, was designed for Holtz Farm, a historic site on the National Register. It honors Irish settlers from County Tipperary who made the city the “Onion Capitol of the World.” (2018)

The copper bars were bent, annealed and patinated red-purple to resemble an sprouting onion on a chopping block.

 Taking its shape from a spouting red onion on a wooden chopping block, the 6 ft (L), 4.5 ft (H) and 18 inches (w) commissioned bench was installed across from the lake at Holtz Farm in Eagan.
